Racks Revisited
Posted by Rhea on May 1st, 2008 filed in Hits, Resto HoppingMy friend Terence called me up one Friday night to drive over to Paseo de Magallanes for dinner with him and Ken. I was quite hesitant at first since I wasn’t really familiar with the directions heading there and I was quite new to driving in the area that going to South Super Highway has always been a challenge.
However, while chatting on the phone, Terence blurted out the magic words, “We’re having dinner at Racks!” and immediately, without even thinking, I went ahead to pick up my wallet and said “I’ll be right there, I’m just gonna hail me a cab!!!” So off I went, leaving my stuff in the office.

Racks has always been a personal favorite and I was really excited to try it out again. They are now under new management and from what I heard, they actually streamlined the whole operations. Te and Ken were already there when I arrived. We ordered 2 family platters of Chicken and Pork Ribs, with sides of beans and coleslaw and 2 large pitchers of Coke Light for the four of us. I know, we are voracious eaters!

When our orders arrived, it could barely fit our table. I immediately went for the baked beans and pork ribs. This is what I have to say — It is exactly like how I remember it! The meat is perfectly grilled, it’s so tender it falls off the bone! The signature Racks sweet and spicy sauce has not changed a bit. The chicken was ok, but I’m not quite a fan, probably because it was a little bit dry. But mind you, we finished it all - no leftovers!!
Considering the amount of food we ordered, our bill was pretty cheap. We only paid for less than Php2000.00 for everything, which is not bad at all!
